Implants for Missing Teeth
Dental Domain is your first choice because
Clinical Excellence means Everything
Implants are truly life-changing. We have seen this with our patients so many times, and it begins with trust. Everything we do at Dental Domain is to achieve a better patient experience. We believe in relationships, which is how we deliver clinical excellence with exceptional service.
This area of clinical work is more intricate, and we deliver it with commitment to our patient because we know your experience matters just as much as the quality of the clinical work we do. We believe both aspects of dental care are too important to compromise on.
We understand that choosing a dentist is a very personal decision. After all, it can be a significant financial commitment as well as a relationship that can last for many years influencing your overall health and wellbeing. Trust is the most important part of this relationship and we start to build this by listening. We work with you to understand precisely what it is you want and take the time to discuss all the options available.
As for the equipment we have invested in and the materials we use for clinical treatment, only the very best will do. Our practice includes computer aided design software, 3D imaging, digital X-ray capability and treatment rooms at the cutting edge of healthcare. We work with only the very best Implant component suppliers, to ensure you have the absolute best quality available on the market today.
Do You Wish you could Eat,
Laugh and Smile again with Confidence?
Implants are the next best thing to your natural teeth. They protect your surrounding teeth and bone, and they last for life when cared for properly. Dental Domain offer implants as an effective, long-lasting way to replace one or more missing teeth, and as a great alternative to dentures. They can improve how you eat and speak, prevent shrinkage of the jawbone, and keep existing teeth firmly in place.
Implants are titanium posts that are surgically placed in the jawbone to act just like tooth roots. These posts eventually fuse with the bone, providing a firm foundation for a crown or bridge.

Implant procedures are transformations that the whole team gets excited about because of the extraordinary effects they can have on our patients’ self-esteem. It truly is a life changing experience for many people. If you are worried about how your teeth look or your confidence has been knocked as the result of an imperfect smile, at Dental Domain we can provide a beautiful smile transformation to make you feel on top of the world. We do this by being at the forefront of cosmetic dentistry and we offer the very latest service and treatments. Advances in technology mean that we can restore your smile in many different ways to improve your appearance and increase your confidence.
The bespoke approach to your new smile involves a combination of treatments, which mean they require comprehensive and detailed planning including 2D x-rays, 3D scans and digital imaging, photographs and sometimes plaster models of your teeth to identify the optimal treatment plan and to deliver your vision. In assessing the 3D imagery, digital scans, photos and study models, we will also be looking at the symmetry of your face, your facial tone and structure and the colour and shape of your existing teeth. Through this process we will spend time listening to you, asking about your lifestyle, the foods you enjoy, your health and your diet in general. This process is vital to get the right outcome for you, as it enables us to create a smile that will last. It does take time, but the best things always do, and it is important to stay patient during this process.
Restorative and cosmetic dentistry is constantly advancing, and we are at the forefront of digital innovation within dentistry, delivering life changing patient experiences and clinical excellence every day. Where we really excel is in recognising individual needs. No two patients and no two smiles are the same, so why should the results be? No treatment is a one size fits all solution, and very often smiles are tailored using a combination of techniques and approaches to ensure that the final result is truly unique and suits the individual requirements.
CBCT Scans
(Cone Beam Computed Tomography)
CBCT images are a game changer in dentistry and with new developments in the field of medical imaging Dental Domain can now take 3D x-ray models of the mouth, teeth and associated structures. This is invaluable in so many areas of dentistry, but particularly for implant surgery.
At Dental Domain we have invested in some of the best x-ray technology available which means we can examine many aspects of your teeth including the precise spaces to plan for implant treatment and much more. We are proud to offer this comprehensive imaging system to our patients improving our ability to diagnose more effectively, without the need for our patients to travel to a specialist.
What is a
Dental Cone Beam CT?
Dental CBCT scans are a more complex scan of the jaw, teeth and mouth. The CBCT machine uses a special type of technology to generate three dimensional (3D) images of dental structures, soft tissues, nerve paths and bone in the craniofacial region in a single scan. Images obtained with cone beam CT allow for more precise implant treatment planning, as well as surgical planning for impacted teeth; diagnosing temporomandibular joint disorder (TMJ); evaluation of the jaw, sinuses, nerve canals and nasal cavity; detecting, measuring and treating jaw tumors; determining bone structure and tooth orientation; locating the origin of pain or pathology and for specialist reconstructive surgery.
A CBCT scan requires no special preparation. Just before we take the scan you will be asked to remove anything that may interfere with the imaging, such as earrings, eyeglasses, and hearing aids. Although removable dental work may need to be removed, it is advisable to bring these to your examination, as your dentist may need to examine these as well. Women should always inform their dentist if there is any possibility that they are pregnant. During the scan the gantry rotates around the head in a complete 360-degree rotation while capturing multiple images from different angles that are reconstructed to create a single 3-D image. This typically takes only a minute in which time the entire mouth and dental structures are imaged. You will not experience any pain during the scan, and you will be able to return to your normal activities once the exam is complete. There is always a slight chance of cancer from excessive exposure to radiation, however the benefit of an accurate diagnosis far outweighs the risk. Taking a CBCT scan is not putting our patients at risk of an excessive amount of radiation, and no radiation remains in a patient’s body after a CBCT scan.
Once your dentist has analysed the images, we will be in touch with you to discuss the results with you directly.
Steps to Achieving
Successful Implant Treatment
Firstly, we carry out a full assessment of your general and dental health.
Your dentist will carry out a full diagnosis examination to determine your suitability for implants, this will include a scan of the jaw to measure the density.
Once your dentist has completed the implant planning, you will be scheduled for a surgery date.
During implant surgery, the titanium posts are carefully placed in the bone. As with any surgery of this type, there is always a risk that the body will reject the artificial pin. Well tolerated and biocompatible posts start to fuse with the surrounding bone over the next few months.
Once settled and fully healed, we can fit custom made crowns or bridges to the now firmly positioned implant posts.
It is especially important to maintain good oral hygiene forever after implant placement, to ensure your implants remain trouble-free. If well looked after with good home maintenance and regular hygiene cleans with your hygienist, implants can last a lifetime.
