Same-day Dental Crowns at Dental Domain
Transform your smile
in Just One Visit!
At Dental Domain you can have state-of-the-art dental crowns on the same day. We value your time and so we focus on creating a beautiful and healthy smile efficiently. We have the CEREC system which allows us to create individualised dental crowns on the same day as your visit. These restorations are ceramic and blend perfectly with your existing natural teeth.
They are tooth-shaped caps that encase the entire tooth above the gums. The main purpose is to protect the tooth, restore functionality and create a pleasing smile. Our crowns are customised for the individual and are strongly bonded into place to provide a permanent covering. This is a popular solution to replacing the look and colour of damaged or dis-coloured teeth because crowns replicate the look and functionality of naturally healthy teeth.

Same Day Crowns Made?
Our dentists will prepare your tooth as usual, and then a specialist handheld imaging tool is used to take pictures of your prepared tooth. Next, our dentists design your crown on the same machine which sends the information to the milling machine, where your crown is created – right in front of you!

Using the CEREC imaging machine means that you are only in the chair for as little as 45-60 minutes for the first part. There’s a break out of the chair for up to an hour, then you’re back for another 20-30 minutes to have the crown fitted. Lots of our patients fill the break by booking their regular exam and hygiene so that everything is done in one day.
Why Do I need a
Crown after a Root Canal?
It is so important that a crown is made for the tooth soon after root canal treatment. Our dentists recommend that fitting the crown on is not delayed. The crown has the crucial job of protecting the weakened tooth from fracturing in the future, and it helps to minimise the chances of re-infection by creating a seal around the tooth.
What to expect
after your new Crowns are fitted?
Your new ceramic crown may initially feel a little strange in your mouth as your teeth adjust to the new sensation, but this passes quickly, and it is normal to feel this! There may be some numbness due to the local anaesthetic, but this wears off quickly also. We remind patients to be careful, don’t chew on their lips or cheeks during this time and avoid eating hard or sticky foods for around 24 hours, so you don’t disrupt the bonding process.
