Crowns and Bridges
Crowns and Bridges Offer Natural-Looking
Solutions to Damaged or Missing Teeth
Both crowns and bridges are long-term treatments. If you’d like to transform your smile but don’t want to make multiple visits to achieve it – discover our same-day ceramic crowns and bridges using CEREC Technology.
Our dentists will discuss the implications of this at length with you so that it is clear how your treatment will look and feel before you make a decision.
If unsightly teeth are spoiling your smile, crowns can offer a natural, tooth coloured look. Sometimes known as ‘caps’, they fit completely over a whole tooth, concealing defects caused by chips, decay, discolouration or large fillings. They can be used when there is not much of the natural tooth left, and they support and protect weak teeth from breaking. They are an exceptionally reliable solution. Made mostly from ceramic, they can also be used to support a dental bridge or be affixed to a dental implant.
Bridges are a natural-looking solution when you feel embarrassed about gaps in your smile. They can successfully fill in those unsightly spaces and help restore your confidence. A longer lasting alternative to dentures, dental bridges are an effective way to replace one or more missing teeth, by bridging the gap to crowns fixed on either side. Bridges provide good eating function while looking natural and maintaining the dental arch. They are also durable and resist stains.
Placing a bridge or crown involves taking digital impressions of the tooth or teeth they will sit on, your bite and the opposing teeth, to ensure comfort and function. The crown or bridge is then milled in our practice while you are there, this is a great opportunity to take a break, out of the chair and enjoy some of our hospitality. Once milled, the dentist can put it into place and bond it. You are then free to go about your day as normal – but with your new crown or bridge in place! It is all done in one visit!
